Old pumpshaft

This looks to be an old pumpshaft that has been left and converted into an overnight perch for hunters. The exposed shaft appears to show how sand has been scoured away maybe from a lack of recruitment from the watershed above the dam.  Another explanation could be subsidence due to overdrafting of the aquifer below.
